Disarming frustrations....

Man!  Sometimes anxieties and frustration really try to take up residence in my chest or stomach.  Sometimes, I can almost feel them trying to dig their heels in, wanting to make me lethargic and lazy, angry or sad, or obsessive.  Do you ever feel like that?  I do find that it works though, if I can make myself get to the gym, or get outside to walk or run.  At first my legs feel like dead weights and I am grumbling about this or that.  It's even difficult to pray sometimes cause my mind is so cluttered....but if I keep putting one foot in front of the other and just spurt out short prayers like "Lord, please just fix it"  or "Bless him or her"  or "Help me figure out what to do",  my legs seem to get lighter and my pace quickens and I can breathe deeply again.  I know I don't have to explain my situation to God, cause He already knows what the situation is...that's why the quick prayers work!
Actually, some of my most creative moments come while I am walking or exercising.  I think that once the frustrations are out of the way, they make room for new ideas and creativity comes more easily.  As I mention on my website
www.marianneclyde.com , "a relaxed mind is a sharper mind."  The less clutter, the freer the flow.....so, get out of that chair and take a walk....and breathe.....

"A relaxed mind is a sharper mind." captured my attention when I read your writing on your website.

This time, "Disarming frustrations " showed me some other ways to reach a relaxed mind.

Thank you for giving me a chance to think about a good way for me.

Taking a walk, exercising, running, breathing in and out in a quiet room, etc. Using our body is a key to getting a sharper mind, I imagine. Because just watching TV for hours or eating, as I'm apt to do when I feel depressed, is not enough to inspire me to be creative.

Thank you again for your writing.

You are right. It's important to keep our body, soul and spirit all in alignment for them to function most effectively! Just shutting out the pain with a temporary fix is just that...temporary.
